My Garden for Soprano, Violin and Piano
My Garden, a set of three songs originally for voice, violin, and piano, is based on texts by Christina Rossetti. There is a Budding Morrow in Midnight begins with an “icy” atmosphere with voice and violin in imitative dialogue. Spring Quiet combines a fiddle tune in the Celtic style. Another Spring features a haunting melody and imitative exchanges between the voice and violin.

A Brief Bio of the Composer
Elizabeth Haskins received her bachelor of music degree from Wilmington College and holds a master of music degree in vocal performance from Miami University of Ohio. She has appeared in solo roles with the Ohio Lyric Theater, The Dayton Opera Company, Miami University Opera Workshop and the Wilmington College-Community Summer Theater.
She is currently an assistant professor of music at Wilmington College, where she has served on the faculty since 1978. She is the musical director of the WC Collegium Musicum and conductor of the WC College-Community Chorus, having conducted a wide range of the standard cantata and oratorio repertoire.
She has enjoyed success in her career as a composer, most recently having performances of her compositions in Orlando, Florida and Cincinnati, Ohio as well as at the College and First Christian Church in Wilmington.
